These three countries are landlocked, so sea cargo can’t reach them directly. Instead, it lands at a coastal port and then travels by road or rail to its final destination. What’s the difference between FCL and LCL?
FCL (Full Container Load) means you pay for an entire 20ft or 40ft container, whether you fill it or not. Because of that, it’s most economical for larger shipments. LCL (Less than Container Load) means you share a container with other shippers and pay only for the volume, or CBM, you use. So it works better for smaller shipments, typically under 13–15 CBM.
What is volumetric weight, and why does it matter for air and courier shipments?
Airlines and couriers always charge for whichever is greater: actual weight or volumetric weight. They calculate volumetric weight from your package’s dimensions, not from a scale.
